Listen on: Spotify, Apple Podcast, Google Play, Google Podcasts, Overcast, Pocket Casts, Stitcher, Castbox, Breaker, RadioPublic, TuneIn, & Castbox
Now that we are fully in the holiday season and your Christmas decorations that went up in early November finally make sense to the rest of the neighborhood, we wanted to bring up a topic that we’ve experienced our whole lives. Celebrating Western Holidays, like Thanksgiving and Christmas, as Asians!
Whether our families serve duck instead of turkey during Thanksgiving or have a good ole spicy hot pot going, these are all traditions that we’ve experienced as 2nd generation Asian Americans, toeing the line between our Eastern and Western cultures, and facing the generational differences within our families, at the dinner table.
Our parents join us for this episode & share how they learned about these Western holidays for the first time! Did your parents go through similar things? Take a listen to the ep & let us know!
